As a sixth generation Floridian with roots in Citrus County, I share a concern for Citrus County residents.
I represent people who have been involved in car accidents and truck accidents in Citrus County, including Homosassa Springs, Floral City, Inverness, and Crystal River.
Although my office is based in Boca Raton, my mom as well as most of my living extended family live and work in Citrus County (Floral City to be exact).
In fact, most of my ancestors migrated to Citrus County on the heels of the Civil War in the late 19th Century.
With the welfare of Citrus County residents in mind, I did the research and crunched the numbers and found some interesting facts about Citrus County which I share below.
Citrus County accidents produce more injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles 2017 Annual Report, there were 1,781 vehicle crashes in Citrus County in 2017.
1,382 of those accidents caused injuries.
That means that 78% of the time, when there is a vehicle accident in Citrus County, someone is injured.
Citrus County residents are 23% more likely to be injured as a result of an accident than the rest of Florida's residents.
The increased odds of being injured may be due to higher speed collisions on Citrus Counties' scenic country roads.
100% of Citrus County motorcycle accidents result in injury.
When it comes to motorcycle accidents in Citrus County, 100% of Citrus County motorcycle accidents result in injuries.
The data collected by FLHSMV in 2017 show that there were 109 motorcycle crashes in Citrus County resulting in 109 people who were injured.
Those are tough odds.
5% of vehicle accidents in Citrus County are caused by hit-and-run drivers.

Second, if you hire a personal injury attorney, you should feel confident in their ability to guide you through the claims process.
You should insist on receiving your attorney's cell phone number so you can text with him or her.
Also, you should not feel constrained to hire a personal injury attorney who is near to your home.
The majority of work performed by a personal injury attorney is performed at arm's length.
That said, no matter where my clients are in Florida, I always meet with them face-to-face several times while the case is pending to maintain a close working relationship with my clients.
